Meet Steve West

Steve West (guitar and vocals) has performed all across Western New York, as a solo performer, as the front man for W.B. Blues, and as part of shows that he is known for putting together with other great acoustic performers from the region.

The youngest of six children who were all active in school music programs, Steve was exposed early on to a wide variety of music including classical, jazz, show tunes, ragtime, and rock & roll. Steve’s journey among the blues started in his teens with a B. B. King concert, and literally took to the road on travels to New Orleans and other parts of the south. The music of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, and many other classic acoustic blues performers comes together in Steve’s clean finger-picking and gutsy resonator work. After a bought of throat problems several years ago, he traded in a “growl” for his natural singing voice and in so doing has found an identity as a sought-after singer of blues as well as vocal standards.

An active solo performer, you can find more about Steve at his website, at
